Inspiration

People get impressed by others so easily... whether a person is good-looking, rich, smart, ambitious, hard-working, famous, patient or clever, he often succeeds in easily impressing a few others with his good qualities. Nowadays, it happens for sure if the person is a public figure - the smallest qualities are exaggerated to a ridiculous point just for this purpose.

But the superficiality is quickly exposed... because the impression remains just that - an impression. You know a person's qualities are truly genuine when he can not only impress others, but also inspire them. When you admire someone for his qualities in such a manner that you aspire becoming like them and you try the hardest to achieve this goal, it means his virtues are indeed valuable. The next step is to further portray these qualities in such a way that you can also inspire others, not just impress them.

Sometimes, when we accomplish some great achievement in our lives, we think we deserve the admiration of every one around us.

It's such a big event when we discover a new chemical element, a new life form or a new planet. It's the front page news when we create a new robot or when we make a medical breakthrough. We are heroes... for a day... for a week maybe... After that, people forget our great deeds and we strive once more for regaining our lost fame.

But we are all equally famous in front of death. It knows everyone of us and it knows all our deeds... and they are equally important.

What matters, is how people remember us after...
